Armchair Peregrinations

April 6, 2004

Walked through the College of Charleston campus this afternoon at lunch and delighted in the beauty of the azaleas in full bloom everywhere. I love this time of year. Azaleas have a way of cheering me up more than any other flower or flowering shrub. Each year I count on them. And each year I miss them so much when they are gone at the end of the blooming season. But how I enjoy them!

My favorite sycamore tree downtown now is almost fully leafed out. I have been watching it every day as I walk by, marveling at its transformation.
