THE MAGICKAL
TOOLS OF THE
KABBALAH

an exhibit in metals

The ancient Hebrew mystical correspondence system of the Kabbalah has been esoterically interpreted and illustrated in many ways throughout the centuries. My work in metals and jewelry led me to an affinity with the visual properties of its symbolic weaponry.

The exhibit served several purposes. First and foremost is was a personal attempt at the production of tools for magickal purposes as an initiate of the Ordo Templi Orientis, (a para-Masonic fraternal/sororal group exploring the mystical paths of the poet/mage Aleister Crowley) as well as the completion of a masters degree in Fine Art Jewelry and Metalsmithing.

Each of the colored spheres above represents a SEPHIRAH, a node or state of being, if you will, in the Kabbalah. Each of these images are hyperlinks to the corresponding weapon in the exhibit. The Kundalini Serpent itself is the final piece. Click on any to view. Or select below from the actual exhibit. Clicking on the picture of each weapon, once there, will return you to this page.

The exhibit was set up as an installation in the form of the Kabbalistic Tree of Life. The paths were placed upon the floor and cylindrical pedestals were placed at each sephirah. The individual tools were then placed on or above the pedestals and the viewer could then walk amongst the sephirah or traveling the Path of the Aspirant, growing in knowledge beginning in Malkuth and ending in Kether. An installation ritual and consecration was performed and the separate poems for each sephirah are part of that ritual which can be read as an empowerment for the tool.

Most of the tools have been constructed from correspondence tables of Aleister Crowleys "777 and Other Qabalistic Writings."
