The southbound (timetable eastbound) San Joaquin Daylight arrives Delano, California on the very last day of operation before Amtrak takes over. The Budd built Sunset cars were deadheading to their new Amtrak assignment.

Passengers board for one last ride.

A chair-observation (ex-parlor observation) carries the markers.

SP 4006, one of ten Alco RS-32s built in 1962, was on a siding at Delano on the same day.
