M

a present-day man with many broad interests who has the opportunity to indulge himself in them so as to acquire a knowledge of each that is more than superficial.

So says my dictionary, which - being a 1973 edition - lacks the current political correctness of banishing such words as "man" and "himself". Personally, I have no problem with these words and use them in their intended context, as being inclusive of all humankind. Nor should anyone be insulted, upset or otherwise red-in-the-face over the use of the phrase "broad interests". "Broad", for the unenlightened, means having extensive range or scope; it does not refer to women.

M y broad interests include:

Architecture Inspiration Point Fine Arts Colony Books
Travel Oklahoma Genealogy
