Over the past couple of years, a number of passing visitors and regular
members have taken the time to send words of support and thanks for the
work I do with Atheists Anonymous. Posted below are some of the
most memorable messages I've received.

Griffey (board
member, 4/05/04):
"I came here because I had suddenly realized in my
life that it wasn't just that I had no religion, that I really was
an atheist. I was exploring this new discovery and kind of
wandered into the chatroom. So that's how I got sucked into this
place.
Anyhow, ever since I've gotten here I've felt like this is a
second circle of friends to me, like I can tell y'all anything and
get honest advice and support, as well as answers to questions and
insight into different issues. The members of this board are, by
far, the most open, accepting group of people I have ever
"met" and the most ironic thing is that I probably will
never meet any of you in person, but it feels like I already have.
So basically, I want to thank Maverick for starting this wonderful
board, and everyone who helps keep it the great environment that
it is. I honestly believe joining this board may have been a
life-changing experience, and it was certainly one of the most
important events in my "spiritual or lack thereof"
life."

"Yeah, I love this board. There is
continued support on anything and everything, and like Griffey
said, I feel like I can know people who have the same interests as
me. I have been a long-time atheist; and sort of a closet atheist.
If asked I would tell the truth, but I certainly wasn't proud of
it. I found this site on Google one day and, as I'm a big
message-boarder, I joined."
