| Ciao, There is still some room at the Austin's most famous and original Italian Cooking Class. Menu': Crostini Red Peppers Rice Salad Stuffed Polpettone Classic Tuscan Biscotti Italian espresso Description: The appetizer tonight is slices of toasted baguette topped with a flavorful blend of roasted red peppers sauted in tomato and garlic sauce. These tasty treats are great to serve at a party. The 1st course is great on a cold buffet. This is a mixture of tender grains of rice mixed with finely chopped seasonal vegetables, wich is flavored with simply olive oil. The 2nd course is literally translated as 'big meatball', in reality Polpettone is the Italian version of meat loaf. It's made differentely in different parts of Italy; tonight of course we will learn the Sicilian style. It will be served with potatoes and Italian herbs. The dessert tonight is Cantuccini, classic Tuscan biscotti. These classic Tuscan biscotti are very popular all over Italy. They are harder than most biscotti Americans are accustomed to and are made to be dunked in cappuccino or espresso. And as usual, Italian coffee will end our cooking class. |
