We have three doctors in this department - Dr. K.C.Mathai , Dr. Babu Krishanakumar and Dr. Lathika. Department undertakes routine works like IOL surgery, Refraction and Spectacle prescription, Contact Lens fitting and emergency managements.

Facilities –

Nd YAG Laser …. Useful for removing posterior capsular opacification (after cataract) and for Iridotomy in angle closure glaucoma. The machine is from Carl Zeiss of Germany.

A-Scan…….This calculates IOL powers pre-operatively from axial length measurements. Machine is from Bio Medix.

Auto-refractometer……from Iopcon is employed for refraction works.

Slit Lamp…….Of Carl Zeiss of Germany.
