Notes: "Rock im Pott" is a new Rock Festival that took place at the "Veltins Arena" (formerly "Arena auf Schalke") a huge soccer stadium with a capacity of almost 79,000 people. The Red Hot Chili Peppers were the main act of the evening and when they started playing, the arena was almost filled. I didn't know before the show Josh had a broken foot (he had an accident at the first Oakland show 2012-08-14). So I was surprised he was sitting on a chair when the show started. So hats off to him playing with a cast (or something like that) and not cancelling the tour dates. Actually he was really rocking out on that stool, and because he couldn't move, Flea came over to him from time to time, so they could jam together. Setlist was good, though in my opinion not spectacular, maybe I've seen too many RHCP shows ;-) And though I like hearing Ethiopia, it's not a song to fit for the encore. Maybe that's the reason why some people were already leaving during the encore? But in general the audience enjoyed the show, there was a lot of dancing and jumping in the pit, and even the seated people (where I was located) did not sit. The sound on the grandstand was not the best, there was a lot of reverb, also present in the recording. Furthermore right in front of me was a family, and Daddy was a hardcore fan, besides dancing he was also enthusiastically clapping and bawling. Please do not convert the recording to mp3 or other lossy formats unless for personal use. And please do not sell. Enjoy!
