Sometimes galaxies can
collide. The galaxies are so big and the stars are so far apart, that a two
galaxies can pass right through each other without a single star colliding.
Sometimes, however, the galaxies have a strong gravitational pull and can

The local group was
first recognized by Hubble and it is spread out a total of 10 million light
years wide. There are thirty galaxies total, that have been discovered.
