This section will describe the world Avatar takes place in. In general, the setting is fantasy ancient Japan, though there are elements of modern culture I've sprinkled in. Samurai are decreasing, and those that are left have little left of their honerable code. Demons are slowly becoming more common, and have been attacking villages as of late.
That, anyway, is the Mortal World. There is another, parralell to it, the Spirit World. It is, to mortals, inaccessible, though spirit beings can pass through the barrier. Controlling the Spirit and Mortal Worlds are the Mystic Kingdoms. Each controls an element, and as a result certain places on Earth.
