Tonight we went to Stonegrill with the rich crew. That's how it's spelled - one word.

It may not be hard to guess, but basically you pick the raw meat and then it is served on a piece of searing hot lava stone heated up to seven hundred degree Celsius. As you sit and wait, it is your responsibility to flip it to the other side. After waiting another 2 minutes, you cut into the steak, and depending on how rare you want your steak, you can either cook the middle throughout or eat it as is.

The idea is neat, but the food was just okay. Don't get me wrong, the bison I had was probably the best tender cut of meat that night. I tried some elk and ostrich. The former was chewy while the latter was a bit bland. I didn't try the beef tenderloin, as I had steak and eggs for brunch (home made!) On the whole, it was not worth $100 per person. The chocolate souffle was rather weak too. Also, the romaine hearts Ceasar salad wasn't bad, but the dressing was too tangy for me. Yes, I know it's really starters, main, dessert - but I'm backwards like that.

I had a bit of foie gras too, and that was really nice. I don't often eat such fattening delicacies, but couldn't resist having some.

....I'll tell you about my steak at lunch another time.
