I'm starting to work heavily with Linux at the Company.

No wonder they give the OS away, there'd be no way normal people (or your parents) would ever pay for it.

Granted, I'm a Linux n00b, and even DOS commands are long behind me. However, I just can't get excited about wanting to change a screen resolution and I have to first stop the xserver, memorize and type in a bunch of arcane settings, and then: startx

Yes, I'm spoiled by Windows. I've no love for any specific OS because the OS should be a platform for launching applications, and not as a user experience. However, Linux as a mainstream product is far from being consumer ready. Yes they've come a long way, but until they can get to the point where you can completely (or 95% of the time) drop the terminal or back to the command line proper, it'll never fly.

....And that my friends, is the end of my rant.
