Dang it, I think stupid Mooch has began scent marking in the basement.

Twice now I've discovered urine after the fact. First time was my fault as I over fed him with water after his stay at the boarding kennel.

This morning, I noticed that the box that housed an un-built Ikea closet was wet at the bottom. I got down on all fours to smell the dampness, and was greeted by the smell of urine.

I am unsure what to do at this time. He was definitely not in need of needing to use the toilet as he just came back from a long walk outside.

I'm a little scared. I don't want him to start marking all over the place. I actually caught him sniffing and circling a garbage bag earlier in the kitchen before we went out. Classic signs of wanting to mark. Luckily he didn't. I now have to pay closer attention to him to ensure he doesn't mark again.
