I took a day off today, originally planning for a trackday that didn't happen not because my buddies didn't go, but because I just didn't feel like it. I'm having one of those low, low moments, that's lasted a week and beyond.

Anyway, having lost a bet, I had to drive Cankles to work at the ungodly hour of 9am. That means I had to get up by 8:15. The horror.

I've been sleeping 5 hours each day, so I figure I would take Monday off and just do nothing but sleep - and I mean really sleep. High school sleep even. I'm envisioning 18-19 hour sleep day.

I get home at 10:30, ready to tank. I'm so tired I can hardly see straight. I crawl into bed, and right before I sleep, I wrinkle my nose. Bad move.

I get one of my famous nosebleeds, it lasts for a short 15 minutes. But in that time, I basically given blood. I soak through a pack of 10 tissues from those little packets of tissue that FOBs inevitably carry.

So I lie back down, now tired and groggy. Just when I thought I would drift off into LaLa land, boom, my stomach does one of those "terrible two's" temper tandrum dances. "Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!"

I bolt up, quicker than a jack in the box with a rocket up his backside. I run to the toilet with nothing but my swimming trunks on, and I happy poo.

Happy poo is great by the way. My brother knows what I'm talking about. I digress.

I am now seriously tired - understatement of the day. I look at my bed, I probably grinned. I hear her loving calling, like an intimate lover, who begs to be held, caressed, and spooned. I dare not deny her.

I hop back into sleep, now a little irritated. I pull the cover over me, turn to my favorite side (right), pillow snugly between my knees. I concentrate on the sound of the hum of my computer and before you know it, I'm back to state bliss. Just before I push off into dream land, *BANG* *BANG* *BANG* *DING* *DING* *DING*

What is going on here? I try to ignore it, but the noises continue between fitful thumpings at the door, and mashing of the doorbell - like a car alarm. Geez, can't a brother get some shut eye around here?

After a minute of ignoring it, I'm envisioning someone outside, getting raped and bludgeoned to death. I can't have that on my hands, so I slither down stairs, so tired now I don't know how many steps until I reach the bottom, but I'm able to walk to the door and pull.

I'm greeted by my landlady's friend - apparently, she went upstairs to pee and that's how they missed each other.

I go back upstairs, and I can't fall asleep any longer. The siren's call to lulliby is gone. I trundle to my desk, flick on the LCD, and I surf for an hour. Each word I read brings me more awake than the last, and no matter what I do, I can't get that drowsy feeling back. Sure, I was still tired, and I still wanted to sleep, but everyone's had those times where you're so tired, that you're wired, right? Well that's how I felt.

Like a Hollywood ending though, I was able to finally sleep for two lousy hours. Not great, because I'm still groggy from the lack of sleep, but it is what it is.

....Blimey.
