What is love?
If that's not the most oft question in the history of mankind (next to: "Where's the toilet, mate?"), I don't know what is. And forget about all these cliches man, I'm not interested in them. I only want how to recognize true love, at the point where one looks at another and is compelled to utter the words, "I love you." I think the problem with English is that we overuse the word "love". We love this car, we love that chocolate cake, we love those bon bons, them clothes, these bits of cubed cheese. I am no longer confident I can spot love if it hit me on the head, grabbed me by the neck, and sucked into my face like that octopus thing in Aliens. I wish I could just sit back and never need love - but I don't know how viable that would be. Sure, I don't mind being a loner, but do I want to be alone for the rest of my life? Not really. So I'm stuck, do I go hunting for something that may or may not be real? Or do I sit back, relax, and hope I trip over it sometime in the future? ....No answers, just questions. |
