How's June 18th for a random drive (not yet the Toronto one)? Justin and his friend Daniel said they can go. My Korean friend said Taegukgi is really good. I should see it. Monday, May 30
I guess I'm starting to get better, I mean, I have an appetite now. Risking eating the chicken something or another with speghetti from last Tuesday. Thanks Spamlee for your piece of chicken. I also just finished watching Taegukgi myself, after reading that olnavi also saw it. What a depressing movie for real. ....Please hide all the plastic knives and forks. Sunday, May 29

Duh Justin, here's some info I told you about: http://www.biotech.wisc.edu/GSTP/ You can apply to any basic program, like Cellular and Molecular Biology (the one I'm in) or Genetics and then get nominated for the GSTP by your advisor. They say: "A key feature ... is the acquisition and interpretation of staggeringly large data sets (implying high-throughput) that are becoming increasingly multi-dimensional." Which I assume is what you want to do. The Schwartz lab is at http://www.lmcg.wisc.edu/index.html (old info). Also, Mark Craven runs a lab where you could potentially analyze data from the Schwartz lab without having to do experiments; so Mark would be your advisor but you'd work on optical mapping stuff. There's also the possibility that you "create" your own, personalized graduate program by submitting a proposal directly to the graduate school. Thursday, May 5
done. it's now jylo.losir.com I actually prefer jy1o, b/c it's what I'm used to thinking of. Do you want it to point to your homepage as well? Or your blog ok? Wednesday, May 4
hey, thanks! can you make it http://jylo.losir.com? i only use jy1o when other people take jylo (grr...). and it might be a while before i can get posts up. my school decided to take away my login because i'm neither an alumnus nor a current student. i've tried to get them to fix this but they're dragging their feet--as usual. 2 emails, a phone call and almost a month later and still nothing. nada. zilch. no... really... i do like my school... sure... and, btw, thanks for having us over this past weekend, dan. we should do the drive at some point too.
