While I maintain that I no longer gamble, I am not past playing a game of cards amongst close friends for a spot of money.

There is a semantical difference, and I adhere by this difference which keeps my conscience clear.

Saying the above basically allows me to talk about Saturday night.

New rule. The final two persons at the end of a hold 'em tourney cannot be girls.

There is no "sorry" in poker! You should not be apologetic beating your opponent(s). When there are only two girls playing, it's a whole round of "check, check, check, check..." until you reveal your hand. Fustrating, that - at three in the morning with 9 other people watching.

Anyway, I still had a good time, and out of three "tournaments" I only got to come into second once. Six guys outplayed by five girls. Although I maintain that in the sport of card playing all sexes are equal, it left the ladies still rather smug the next day.
