after merging onto I-55 south, take it past kingery and get off at lemont road north (exit 271B). drive north on lemont until 75th street where you take a left. right on woodward. left on wheeler. our house (near the end of wheeler) has a big yellow sign in the front yard that says "NO OUTLET". can't miss it.

then you can pick me up and i'll tell you how to get to dan's =D (it's kind of complicated)

my parents' work schedules are as follows, in case that helps with your planning in any way.

mom: MWF 8:30am~3:30pm
dad: TTh basically morning til night (gets home approx 9:30pm)

your best bet would probably be monday or wednesday night, otherwise youll have to go there late. they dont sleep all that early tho, so tuesday isnt really THAT out of the question. anyway, just FYI

Well I finally got over the worst part of my main project, so I expect I could take at least most of the day off on 11/5. As long as it's not election night, since we're having an election party/funeral (if Bush wins). That's a Friday? Well then I can stay king of late I suppose, or was I supposed to sleep over? Let me know the plans. I think minimum I'll have 7-8 hours of cousing checking time either way.

Itinerary:

Friday Oct 29th, 1pm, begin leaving Toronto towards Chicago.
Expecting a 10 hour drive. May be delayed if govt workers still on strike, which will affect border crossing.

Expect to arrive at Dan's door by 11pm.

Other than that, nothing else has been planned.

My priorities are as follows:
-Family get together as often/long as possible with everyone
-See Chiacgo
-See Milwaukee
-Sleep at Dan's place, Justin's place, 3sook/sum, if they can allow it

I will shuttle and/or drive as many people as possible. If spending time together means me driving 2 hrs out to pick someone up, and end up only singing showtunes to the middle of nowhere, I will. I mean, if that's what it took to meet up with y'all. I expect the hardest people to meet up w/ is Yee Gwoo mah and Jeurng (since they are very busy that week), then Lawrence, then Robin. Everyone else should be do-able.

just to clarify things... you're arriving on 10/29 (friday) evening then? i was assuming so, since that's the friday before the week you said you'd be here, but i just want to make things as clear as possible. as it stands now, i'm working hallowe'en weekend as well as dogsitting so i can't do anything until sunday night. i can try to get 11/1 and 11/5 off; those are the only 2 other days i'm working during that timeframe. no, i didn't try to get time off because i figured i'd have a new job by then, but i guess that's not going to happen...

What are schedules like?

I'm thinking something like this: Drive down Friday afternoon, arrive late Friday nite. Stay at Dan. until Wed/Thur, head down to meet Justin. The end.

Justin, if you can somehow come up earlier and hang out w/ me, i'd love to do that. Don't know if you took time off or whatever.

Sorry I don't have any more solid plans, would rather just wing it.

eric: concerning your tripod problem, you might want to look into the setup dan and i have (you can try it out in the field when you come visit). if you want to look it up, we use velbon maxi 343e bodies and bogen/manfrotto 484RC2 heads. i can only really speak for myself, but a good tripod is definitely worth every single penny.

Eric: have you tried the remote thing yet? i thnk i'm going to go pick up a universal remote soon. i may still spring for the official remote, though just because it's so dinky. also, i'm on the lookout for a suitable case for the 75-300mm. would you like me to get you one if i come across anything?

I can at least take a half day off. Work isn't a record thing for me, my boss doesn't care if I show up or not. But my stupid mice do. So if I can get a full day off I will, but I won't know for a while. I'll post updates as I go... Booo. At least I should be able to spend 4-5 hours at the least in Mil either way.

I now realize that skipping 1 or 2 class will not kill you. (Those classes I did go to didn't make me smarter.)
