Ivan pointed me to a post that basically said a $5 remote control for TV will work to trigger the d70 as a remote flash. Basically, all you need is that the remote will have Sanyo codes.

If that's the case, and the watch can mimic a Sanyo remote control, it SHOULD also work to trigger the D70, hence my post.

But yeah, I was buzzing hard when I was riding home. Shoulda seen the HUGE smile on my face as I stared down and say 267 km/h on my speedo. not smart, but oh. so. fun.

got the big honking version of the 28-200 for the n60. all-in-one lens has proven to be very convenient. while the other chumps are scrambling to change lenses, all you gotta do is twist and click. ok ok, so its only good for photo n00bs like me.

you d70 boys have it good, but wait 5 years down the road and ill be laughing at you with my $200 dslr w/realtime preview, flip LCD, and a multitude of affordable VR lenses. bwahahahaha... wait, not yet.

as for the 600mm, i just won an auction for a 2x AF teleconverter so that 75-300mm will become an effective 210-840mm. >=)

It is a good general purpose lens that doesn't cost too much. Zoom is very useful, and might minimize even more lens switching.

Ivan, nice pic, no problem with the backfocus, I made Dan do it. (Or at least he agreed to).

Any res is okay, 1280x1024, or even 1600x1200, no biggie, ACDSEE tries very hard to fit picture when converting to wallpaper, so it's all good.

Use my english first and last name with no space, @ the 1st three letters of my company name, dot com.

can you guess?

BTW, that's a Honda VRF 800 with pipes.

ali G is freaking hilarious. im in the process of downloading his shows, but i think i may just end up buying the dvd someday. or... if my friend successfully downloads it, ill just get it from him.

Eric, id say nix that CF deal. its a good deal for sure, but if youre buying for the d70 (which im assuming), id recommend going for the high speed monsters like the sandisk ultra II's. it wouldnt be worth it for a $1k+ camera's capabilities to get bottlenecked by a measely memory card. but thats just me.

Family, I have good news.

I'm coming down to Chiacgo and area to visit everyone. Nov 1 to 5, including weekend previous and after the 5th. Will probably head on home Sunday morning on the 7th. (possibly as late as lunch).

Anyway, I just want to see everyone, because 1) I have holidays I must take off 2) I haven't visited you in your native land in quite some time.

I don't have the logistics nor have I planned out a definitive trip, but I would love to see all uncles/aunts/cousins/brother as much as possible.

Lisa will accompany me at this point in time. Not set in stone.

it actually went for a little more than that but the high bidder got into a car accident and had to back out and since i was the second highest bidder, i was given a second chance offer.

note: the lenses that came with it were sigmas, not nikkors. even so, they work very well and you can bet they're worth much more than US$50 apiece.
