I wish I was more medically inclined.

Wait, what I meant to say was "I wish I was medically inclined."

Yes, there's a difference. The first sentence would imply that I was somewhat inclined, however, truth be told, I have a hard time remembering the Periodic Table is NOT called the Scientific Chart. So to say I'm medically ignorant in any form is an understatement.

I was reading my regular motorcycle forum when someone posted that they needed help because their kid had a very high fever, but the hospital kept sending him and their child home. As I read post after post, I couldn't help but wish I knew something to say or do. Heck, I'd settle for having been an extra in an ER episode, at least I'd be more qualified to typing something out, instead of sitting back and ringing my hands in anguish.

But alas, I don't know what to do when you have a fever. I really don't. Sure, I remember a cold cloth on the forehead as a kid, lovingly administered by my Grandma and/or aunt. But other than that and children tylenol or motrin, I'm stuck like chuck.

For the first time in my life, I wish I was a doctor.
