Back from vacation. It was great. will post pix in due time.

justin, the package arrived. Everything's cool.

The camera case was SO worth it, you don't understand. Underwater photography, and even 15fps m-jpeg clips were worth the price of admission.

had a blast at NYC. i saw julianne moore while waiting in the checkout line of virgin music, in times square. did a quadruple take, and decided in the end not to harass her. ah well. oh yeah, shes shorter than me. woohoo!

I don't play PC games after getting the GBA. I love Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced. Dan, you REALLY gotta get that rom loader man! If you want quick gaming, get Mario Kart, it's a realy fun game!

Just installed XP last night, now nothing works. The miracles of Microsoft. So I'm d/l a ton of drivers at work to transfer. Should be fine, but oh so dumb. As for games, I haven't played a new one in over half a year. I've been playing Diablo 2 some with a friend of mine in NY. Other than that, all quiet on the gaming front, oddly enough.

Hangovers always make it never worth it for me. But maybe I just get hit harder (no body fat I guess).

update: i have the camera case. i actually received it monday afternoon, but i had a final on tuesday. i was going to mail it wednesday, but i got called in to work a double. (i was at the hospital from 0615-2115.) fedex attempted delivery of the cli? on tuesday but i haven't received it yet due to the aforementioned reasons. i'm mailing it today. is receiving it monday ok? i know i should have mailed it tuesday anyway. sorry about that...

its probably not a bad one, but im experiencing my first ever hangover right now. if i ever go drinking again in the middle of the week, just shoot me. drive home from downtown was a bit scary too, almost rear-ended a truck but i think that was cuz i was falling asleep, heh.

oh well, heading to new york tonight. at least ill be able to sleep in tomorrow. yippee!

what about a... samurai fan? hahaha. that movie made me want to bust out that wooden sparring sword i have around somewhere and take a few swings. HI-YAH!

when it comes to computer/video games, i like the shorter/simpler ones for the most part. the less commitment required, the better. plus esp for GBA, its meant to be taken on the go and used during those pockets of nothingness. maybe im just saying this because im not a fan of RPG's whatsoever, but somehow the idea of playing thru final fantasy XIII on a tiny 2.5" display doesnt sound that appealing to me. i like my eyesight, thank you very much. ill take my street fighter alpha over that any day. fire it up and give a few beatdowns while youre waiting at a red light, perfect! ok ok, so i also have super mario 3 but hey, that came bundled along with the console, and i got double dragon for sentimental value. i also got GT3 pro concept racing, not exactly a game you can play while waiting in traffic, but again no super long term commitment required. power on, select car/track, race, power off, and do your next thing.

speaking of attention span, time to resume work.

hated the myst series of games. Too much pain to my head. Although the Monkey Island series is still tops. That reminds me, i have to start on #4, having finished the 3rd one a little while ago.

The sims is okay, not as much fun on the GBA ;) But never got into the whole tamagochi thing.

Hi all, popping in again after having been absent since...oh dear, looks like since mid-October.

Been awful busy over here...lot of late-night shifts and so on. Some big department deadlines, something that had been assigned to another group but we were expected to help out, etc. At least it appears we got it all done.

No computer games for me...unless it's something in the Myst series (I'm itching to try out their latest, but we still haven't finished Exile (because Lawrence never brings the game home!)) or a text adventure, or The Sims. What a weirdly addictive game that is.

Went to see Last Samurai yesterday. Not my first choice, in fact not on my "to see" list at all (I wanted Master & Commander), but it was a social occasion and so I went with the social flow. It turned out to be rather better than I expected. Not enough to turn me into a Tom Cruise fan, and probably not enough to get me to watch it again, but it's really quite the intelligent movie.

oh well, i bought street fighter alpha yesterday, used for $17. not too bad, its given me a few hours of fun already.

recently a couple of my friends also got gba sp's, and we already talked about getting the flash reader/writer. oh well, until then ill just be buying used games i guess.

Forget buying games, just get this, and d/l games from irc.

I bought one from that link btw, so it's fairly safe. There are 1314 games as of writing today.

make sure you get the 256 mbit version. Final Fantasy Tactics Advance for example is 128mbit game (alth realistically, it's only 77mbit). There are 3 versions of GT so far. GT1 sucked, b/c you couldn't save games (you had to use a gimpy password thing), GT2 is rally, GT3 is good.
Games are VERY expensive, IMO.

although not in the form of a gift, i too took the gba sp plunge. picked it up during lunch break about 40 minutes ago. its bundled with super mario 3 and a carrying case for $130 (USD). gonna go shopping for some games after work, woohoo!

Eric, got any game recommendations? :D

It's Christmas time again....

That means I'm hoping my cousins/brother will be nice enough to send me some stuff from the States. Is it too much to ask? I do feel bad that you guys aren't sufficiently compensated for your efforts.... But unfortunately, it is SO much cheaper online.

The PDA is awesome, but I do I really need a $700 CAD palm?? Probably not, but a guy at work has one, and it's gotten me all jealous.

Anyway, Dan or Justin, if one of you can order me the Waterproof case and get it up by the 16th of Dec, I'd appreciate it. 2 weeks enough time? Ship it priority, it's still cheaper than buying it here.
