it was around $80-ish, i dont remember the exact figure off the top of my head. i have the receipt at home tho. even the guy i talked to on the phone was surprised at how inexpensive the process was. apparently he wasnt aware that it wasnt fixed correctly either. ugh :(

let me know if you do end up buying a new camera. ill definitely contribute some funds towards your new purchase. sorry again.

Dan, I need to know ASAP how much it cost to repair the camera, so I can try to get a refund for that. Unacceptable workmanship. The idiots didn't use any new parts to fix it, probably just pushed the lense back into place and said it was fixed.

No wonder it won't focus properly. That's my guess.

Ugh.

Dan, I regret to inform you that the camera was not 100% fixed. Sigh, it's not your fault dude, so don't feel bad, it's just purely FYI.

I'm going to Fuji tomorrow and scream up a storm in person. When the camera is zoomed up (wide angle), you can clearly see that the lens does NOT stay centered. it veers to the left. Also, I can freely move the lense back/forth rather easily. Lastly, you can see that the door of the camera is no longer flush with the rest of the housing. There is an OBVIOUS gap when the camera is closed.

:( Well, it gives me an excuse to get a new camera.... :D Which is a good thing I guess. I will see what Fuji will do into rectifying its mistakes. I intend to stink up the joint with this one. You know how much of a plick I can be, so I'm looking forward to screaming down someone's throat tomorrow.

Dan, you're a crazy, crazy kid.

You didn't have to "compensate me" for anything, you goof head!! Well, Lisa loves you off now, and feels I you some kind of blood debt. I don't know how to repay you buddy!! You can be the godfather of my bike!

Having said all that, I'm paranoid. The motor for zooming in/out seems to be louder than I recall. Also, it has a really hard time focusing in low light, even with a flash. I kept getting these really, really blurry images. I even tried a tripod and self timer, so it takes my shaky hands out of the equation. I'm bringing it to Fuji Canada (Mississauga area, so not far at all) to get them to confirm that I'm on drugs. B/c Lisa insists it's in my head. (it probably is).

Anyway, I can't express how guilty I felt for being mad that night, now I feel like a heel.

You can borrow my camera anytime!!

oh btw, your camera came in [earlier] today. i opened it up, made sure everything was there, tested it, repackaged it, and it will be dumped at the post office first thing in the morning. er, a controlled dump. along with paying the friendly postman to make sure it actually gets somewhere, that is (i.e. your place)

since nobody's really written anything in a while, i guess i'll write something. i went skiing yesterday. it was a lot of fun: yesterday was the perfect weather, there was real snow on the ground and not that fake icy stuff. but yesterday was also the first time in a long time that i've made an unplanned visit to a hospital er. no, it wasn't me that got hurt. a friend of mine crashed into a pole. but all is well--it turned out just to be a bad scrape. although it could easily have been me that had gotten hurt. i did my first ski jump yesterday... and almost missed the landing. can't wait to go skiing again. too bad it's so expensive.
