im not entirely sure what site youre talking about, but my guess would be adcritic. however, the site supposedly shut down a while back, and to the best of my knowledge is still down. i havent looked at it in the longest time, especially since i dont have the bandwidth to be downloading commercials anyway. i guess you can check to make sure. i know, its weird that i would include the url but not check, but my computer is on a 28.8k modem, so i need to spare whatever little bandwidth i have, ha ha ha ha. plus im going to sleep now. boooooooo!

no, hes a completely different guy now, voice-wise, appearance-wise, and personality-wise. i didnt even recognize him as the same person, despite knowing his name. i remember what he looked like from pictures, not necessarily from real life. i just remember one time we were in a room and we heard him running down the hall screaming like, you guessed it, a lady. wahahahahaha.

you remember when we were at that M.A.C.C.Y.S. camp back in 88, and there was this one person named julian we called "the lady guy"? i met him again last night! HAHAHAHA!! hes totally different now. pretty tall, not particularly chubby anymore, and a really nice guy. we were talking about how he was a bully and stuff, and he was being all nice and apologizing for what he did, even tho i dont recall him ever specifically bullying us. turns out he was at U of I the same time i was, and ive actually heard of his name several times but it never occured to me that he was "the lady guy". so i finally met him last night through a friend (it was at my friend's bday dinner). how weird, meeting someone for the first time in almost 14 years. anyway, if you dont remember, then umm.. i guess ignore this post.

Roberta, i believe some people DO do that. if im not hallucinating, i think someone i know has done it before. the catch? i have no idea. i dont even watch non-cable tv all that much, let alone pay-per-view so my understanding of these things is at a minimal. you would think that they'd take some safety measures just in case, eh? oh well, then again its not like you cant do the same with rental DVDs. i know for a fact that my friend does THAT for sure, hahaha.

Daniel, a friend of mine in college had the exact opposite reaction to Fridays. She was on a work-study program, and did front-desk duty at the dorm for a semester, and what shift did she pick? Friday night 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.! I said, what the heck? and she said she
didn't have much else to do on a Friday anyway. We were
pretty good friends so I spent not a few weekends hanging out with her during her shift (well, during the early hours of her shift anyway). Since we were fooling around with creative writing at the
time, and since all she really had to do was buzz people in if they forgot their keys, it proved to be an excellent time for writing. It was also quite educational...you wouldn't believe how many students stagger in drunk between 1-3 a.m. on a Saturday morning...

On a different topic, here's a deeply intellectual question for you all...Has anyone here ordered a movie off Pay-Per-View before? Can't you just order a movie and tape a copy for yourself long before the movie is released to video/DVD? What's the catch? Why wait months for the video/DVD release if you can tape a copy sooner, for just a few bucks?

there are some things i dont quite understand about myself. one example that comes to mind involves my class schedule. for some reason, i make a semi-conscious effort to keep my fridays open. i mean, if a class i need happens to meet on friday, im not going to NOT take it just because of that, but ill be sure to see if there are other time slots for that same class. more times than not, ive succeeded in dodging fridays. however... this is the second quarter in a row that ive registered for a saturday class. for some strange unknown reason, i have no qualms with going to class on saturdays, and we're talking a 4-hour time slot here, smack in the middle of the afternoon. faced with the prospect of having that exact same time slot on friday, and i dive for cover.

oh well, enough. time to sleep.

this is the only place i can really vent about this, so im gonna do it! actually, im just a spoiled brat, as you will soon find out...

a friend of mine was kind enough to give me an old computer of his. the computer ive used for the past couple years is now in ivan's posession. i had to "sell" it to my dad (who gave it to ivan) for money towards a new computer. however, since i havent been able to get a modem for that yet, ive had to resort to using this thing, and let me just say, its sloooooooow. first off, im on an aol modem connection, which blows. secondly, this thing is a P 166 with 32mb of ram. it doesnt help that just 2 feet away is an athlon1800, but without the modem, its essentially useless. oh well, like i just said, im spoiled, i admit it. hahaha, but come on, when was the last time the simple task of copying files from your cd drive onto your hard drive froze up your computer??
