I hate to admit defeat, but losing is losing, and I've got the mother-of-all "L" tattooed on my forehead.

It's never bothered me before that American companies are slowly but surely invading our shores. Maybe they're still sore from the War of 1812, but having the Redcoats keeping them from our borders must have really got them mad. However, the Yanks are as clever as they are patient, so they waited and bided their time -- concealing their hands with free trade and good television. Finally, they're beginning to win, replacing Price Club for Costco, K-mart/Woolco/and soon-to-be Zellers for Walmart. The latest? Best Buy buying up Future Shop, and then having its own brandname stores too.

So Best Buy started its shop last Friday, with advertised door crasher sales. An I/O Magic 24x CD-RW for $~25 CDN. What an amazing deal!

Actually, what's amazing is that I would actually bother trying to line up for one. Three days in a row, at two different location. What a chump! Each time I went away empty handed. Friday, I got up late. Saturday, because I didn't bother to wait in line. Sunday, after spending an hour freezing my butt off, I was about 2-3 person late. Some old lady beat me to it. I feel like such a moron, words alone cannot describe how absolutely ghey I feel.

Bargain hunting is one thing. Stooping myself down to the level of cattle is another.
