I wrote a piece in February of this year. 2/05/02 to be exact (look for it in the archives, since I'm not going to bother linking to it.)

Basically, I said it's possible for a game company to make a product which keeps track of how well you play. I then cynically concluded that the military could use this set up to actively target certain people/parts of the country into joining the armed forces based on their stats. I even use the movie "The Last Starfighter" as an example.

Well guess what? It's true. Pick up a copy of Computer Gaming World (july 2002) edition and turn to page 33 of their Read Me. The Army is releasing two games, for free. Furthermore, the writer(s) of the article used the same movie as their opening example.

Very creepy. Read my archived blog (yes, the archives are working again), and then read the magazine article.
