I've been dying to do a site redesign. More so then ever after seeing how netscape barfs on my page with ver 4.x. Totally horrible. I don't know if it's because the stupid geocities.com app gets loaded, which then craps out, or is it because my page is powered by the Geocities' Page Wizard (I admit it, most of it was built by that....) Whatever the case may be, it just sucks hecka hard.

So I went to Netscape's site to see what the latest version is, which is something I've not bothered to do since IE is basically free. Anyhow, no wonder no one uses Netscape anymore....

Go check out their site. I challenge you to find a link to download their browser in less than 10 seconds. If your company is primarily founded on one specific app, then the link to download that software (no matter how seemingly obsolete it has become) should be front-an'-center. Gosh, there should be Flash animation, animated GIFs, blinking words, the whole 9 yards all pointing to one big button that says --> D O W N L O A D <-- Followed by exclamation marks maybe, but at least have a big link.

Instead, what do we get? A portal. How passe is that?! Come on kids. The Internet isn't going to make you millions of dollars, not at this rate. Not now.

Anyway, back to my site redesign. I've tried several things over the weekend, hand writing all the HTML stuff. I think I'm going to stick with my free flowing theme with some iframes stuck in the middle somewhere for my blog. Not sure yet. I tried it and it didn't look right. There are several things that could improve the site, but that would require a longer d/l, which I'm NOT willing to sacrifice. I also wanted big buttons for my links for easier surfing of those who just don't want to squint anymore. Well I'll come up with something eventually.
