I remember when I was a kid, my Mom and I would argue tonnes about this. She would start by saying "Don't be so lazy."

To which I would invariably reply "If I'm lazy, why are you using the microwave to make dinner??"

Mom: "That's not laziness, that's convenience."

Me: "Right, and that's why it's so convenient for me to not do homework...."

Which would pretty much get me sent to my room or a smacked bottom. Funny how Mom could never hit me hard enough to hurt, but I guess it's the gesture that counts huh?

I'm reminded of this because of the mess in the Company washroom. Not the executive one, but the communal second floor, free-for-all. Since our garbage pail was getting full too quickly, people would end up just littering on the floors by the end of the day. Hence they've placed an adjacent can beside the first one, which was built into the wall. Unfortunately, this is so handy that people now only throw refuse into the new can, which of course gets filled too quickly, and once more we have a floor littering problem. I mean, there's used paper everywhere around the can, but the original-built-into-the-wall unit stays nearly empty.

If convenience doesn't equate laziness, then why was the TV clicker invented?
