I couldn't resist.

....I'm not in love with it any more though.

Washer/dryers are bloody heavy. RadReddy and I muscled our old ones out of the basement, and then carried a dryer down. The new washer will have to wait, we can't do it just by ourselves.

Luckily, his uncle had a dolly that lets us smoothly move the appliances up and down with way less effort. There's no way on earth we could have moved it otherwise - it just wouldn't be possible.

I'm happy to report that I haven't yet broke anything. I didn't put any new scratches on the doors yet, although I'm sure the carpets are a little dirtier. I'll have to vacuum for sure.

Tomorrow we'll get a couple of new recruits to help with moving the washer down, it's not going to be pretty at all.

....If it falls on any of us, it's going to really suck.

I don't share the same disdain for wedding photography as my profession photog olnavi. I enjoy the adrenaline rush of getting that perfect shot. I like the idea that other people will see the end product and go, "Wow, now that's a great picture."

Alas I have not come close to that. My first real paying gig that I shot, upon showing a sample picture, was met with indifference. They were just glad that I was almost done "editing" all their pictures.

I'm not sure how to feel about that. I gave it my all, especially in the digital manipulation department. While that may be indicative of how shoddy the original photos are, I like to think that at least there was potential in one or two of the stills I captured.

Anyway, look and like, or look away in disgust - my soul is laid bare.

....I am giving them 121 "goodpix".

I'm slowly coming to the realization that I am a sucky dog owner.

I don't run with it because I'm lazy. Instead I take it for longer walks, but it's not a substitute.

I don't play with the dog as much as I do. When he grabs his favorite toy and noses me with it and then run away, I don't give the obligatory chase.

I get mad at it all the time. I think it should be a robot, obeying my every command. However, it doesn't want to, and then I get upset, prompting me to yell and tug a little too hard at its collar.

In short, I'm at a cross road now. The idea that I must take care of it tires me out. I sat in my driveway today, car idling, pretending that I needed to cool down the turbo, but in all seriousness, I was weary of having to take him for a walk.

....Mooch, tell me what I should do.

OH. MY. GOODNESS.

Cankles is in the new Incredible Hulk movie. You read it here first.

Seriously, she's in the new movie.

Okay, so she's an extra, a "background" person. But still, she's got a shopping bag as a prop and everything.

Hahaha, pure jokes.

....I now know a "movie star". Wow.

Today, I became one of the little guys.

Here's the initial story that got me thinking: Man arrested at Circuit City after refusing to show his receipt.

In a nutshell, there's no legal right for a public store to force you to show a receipt nor examine the contents of your bag after you have exited through the cashier but before leaving the store. In short, it is within every citizen's right to refuse such searches.

Then this story appeared: TigerDirect Apologizes For Unlawfully Detaining Customer For Refusing To Show Receipt. The title says it all.

So with that in mind, I went to Tigerdirect with Dashin and RadReddy. I had not planned on getting anything, but they had some good sales and I ended up leaving with a Logitech wireless laser mouse, and a Netgear 80211G router.

As I left, the door dude with the highlighter asked to check my stuff to which I refused. We had a conversation like this:

Clerk (C): Can I see your recepit.
losir (L): Nope. Unless you think I stole something, it's within my rights to not have my receipt. Are you accusing me of shoplifting?
C: No, it is store policy to check all receipts and contents of bag
L: Show me where it is written that this is the store policy? I did not sign an agreement allowing this "policy" to govern me. I know my rights, and I know that Tigerdirect recently apologized to a consumer for illegally detaining him.
C: Conversely, I can say that you are banned from entering Tigerdirect ever again.
L: No problem. I hate tigerdirect and would love to never have to come back.

To which I turned and walked out the door.

I know I sound like a donkey-cum-hollow-place-in-a-solid-body, and I agree with you. However, I also think that by submitting to every draconian rule that exists without any legal grounds can be a dangerous thing. Every day our rights as citizens are eroded without our consent. And to tolerate it is to surrender ones freedom. I often think I'd never live in the UK because of all the CCTVs in place. While I know that even in Toronto we are under constant surveillance, it's good to know that I can still stick to the man, legal styles.

....I do hate Tigerdirect though.

Taken at 2:30am or thereabouts.

....He can be sort of cute, no?

My first paid gig. Not the best shots, but I like the ideas.

....There are better pictures.
