The doors are in the hizzo, the doors are in the hizzo. Fo' shizzle, my nizzle.
I know, that was so two years ago, but I couldn't think of anything else to write. But the doors are now in place.

I'm sort of upset right now.
Not so much upset as I'm frustrated with some of the design choices of mon mere et pere. First, the pantry. I don't think they realized just how monstrous it is. In picture one cannot comprehend nor percept the depth of how it overshadows the whole kitchen, rendering the breakfast area virtually useless. Okay, if I could take better pictures, maybe you could tell. I digress. It's the biggest headache for me. It's so embarrassing to admit this, but I think we overpaid by about $500. I can get an ikea unit, looking better, for about $250. Don't believe me?? LINK. Granted, it is bigger than what we can use. We got woolly socks pulled over our eyes on that one. Second, the bathroom sink/cabinet. Again, my Dad thought we live in a mansion. I went out of my way to pick extremely nice tiles for the walls and floor, and he goes and commissions a 48" counter top with sink and full wood cabinet, taking up literally 1/3 of the bathroom footprint. When it's done, I reckon I cannot leave the bathroom door open and bend over to brush my teeth at the same time without my bum hitting said door. And you know what? I think the cabinet costs $1000. Look, I'm not saying the contractor a cheat. I know he's out to make money. And I know that he wants to give us the best house possible - and that is by making exactly what we ask for. However, he's definitely not out to save us cash by helping us out and recommending the cheaper solution. Of course he's going to push for custom built things because he'll get kickbacks for giving them work. So I'm pretty pissed, on all fronts. If it was up to me, I'd have a MUCH tighter reign on how the spending is to be spread out. Also, with us shelling out so much for the renovation, one wrong move and you won't be able to tell how much the house is worth. These two cabinets alone, without being overly dramatic, really lessens the look of the house. The tiles right now without a cabinet look so nice, it's crazy, but when I think of the cabinet going in now, which will hide 1/4 of the wall, it makes zero sense. I'm done. I'm still pretty upset, but at least I got a chance to gripe. ....And I guess that's what this page is all about.
Tallidaga Nights is one of the least funniest movie I've seen for a while. It was overly long, the jokes were lame, there was no life whatsoever.
Maybe I'm a prude, but I literally sat there bored out of my mind. And yet, I sat through it all. ....Says a lot about how bored I am.
You're in luck guys, I got 2 sets of pictures for you to check out!

I have to say, it's really nice to have friends now and then.
Because with friends, I just got 2 amazing deals.... 1. Logitech Harmony 880 universal remote 2. Logitech diNovo Edge keyboard The best thing about it? The prices. Remote is $65 (all prices in US), keyboard is $80. General online retail prices are like $173 and $179 respectively! I totally scored! Oh, yes, it's also nice to have cousins who has friends too. I also bought a Logitech wireless 5450 5.1 THX certified speakers for the TV ....I really need to curb my spending.

Went to a birthday dinner for Nix, Ders' girlfriend. It was at Moxie by Yonge/Sheppard area. It was a nice time.
Started off with a ahi tuna crisps appetizer. Basically, a tiny cut of sushi-grade tuna, marinated with a sesame dressing and sauteed mushrooms over a tortilla chip. It was actually quite good. The cucumber side should have been avocado slices though. I then had the 10oz blackened steak - wanted medium rare, but it came medium. Hardly any pink. It wasn't too chewy, but it was over spiced. Cajun spice rub - peppers and a lot of salt. Too salty for my taste. I wanted to wash it down with a glass of wine, but instead I had a diet Pepsi. Why? Because I'm sick, yet again. Sore throat, feverish, chills. ....But today's workout was amazing. |
