While I'm not a fan of linking to sites for the sake of doing so, I found this quite interesting.
....The 10 Most Puzzling Ancient Artifacts.

You know I've never been really, I mean truely ashamed of my choice in music. Tonight, staying late at work, I just listened to:
- Eminem-Eminem_Is_Back - Bow_Wow-Wanted-2005-RNS - 50cent-Tha_Official_Mixtape_(Mixe_Par_Dj_Polo)-2003-MVP - John Mayer - Heavier Things - John Mayer - Inside Wants Out I guess it's the last two that if anything, people will snicker and wonder about the disposition of my sexual preference. (They say that anyone who vehemently defends their "straightness" usually mean they're hiding their homosexual tendancies - so I'll just keep quiet, but, FYI, I like girls.) So I'm listening to 08 - John Mayer - Heavier Things - Daughters.mp3, and it depresses me. Makes me think of the beautiful girl I'll never father. The perfect little princess I would love more than anything in this world, more than any object I could own, more than all the money I could amass.... I would give that up, just so I can have my little princess, and I guess the mother of that child. Sometimes though, you can't buy love. More importantly, sometimes you don't deserve it. ....I am going to die an empty man.

I make a conscious effort not to nerd it out too much when it comes to my blog. But if your OS is Windows and you're still not surfing the web with Firefox, I say, "You're a moron!"
Internet Explorer (IE) is great. It really brought WWW into everyday lingo. The thing is, IE is just convenience. Maybe too much so. I'm not going into hyperbole mode here. I'm not going to say that once you switch to Firefox, your interweb surfing will be free of bugs or malicious attacks from unscrupulous websites. But if your care about security, if you care about the safety and integrity of your system and its contents, then you owe it to yourself to really start using firefox. If you're the type of person who thinks safe internet surfing is locking your room door before bringing up a website, or don't mind telling everyone your credit card number, hey, you can skip this. But if you're the type of person who happens to think privacy is just that, private, then I'm here to save the day. 1. Install Firefox 2. Download the following Firefox addons/plug-ins: Adblock: A tool to block banners/pop-up ads from appearing. Not only will this get rid of most pop-ups, pop-under, overlay ads, it will also prevent banners from being downloaded, saving you megs of bandwidth. Tabbrowser Preferences: This gives added power to the Tab Browsing feature, one of the best thing for Firefox. It gathers ALL browser windows and puts it as tab. So now your one firefox window will house all the web pages that you've brought up. Clicking on a link that brings up a new webpage in IE will now just open up a new Tab. I like to open Tabs in the background, so I can finish reading the main site, while the other tab finishes loading. You can still use multiple windows in Firefox if you choose, but I just prefer all my pages into one main window - freeing up my Windows taskbar. IE View: I'll admit, there are sites that will only work with IE. No worries, simply install this addon, and whenever you want a link to open in IE, simply right click on said link, and choose.... Open in IE. Simple! IE Tab: Companion to IE View, IE Tab now opens up your IE in a firefox tab. Brilliant! NoScript: The reason why I wrote this entry to begin with. This nice plug-in will prevent Javascripts from running unless you the user tells it to run. You can configure this by website to website basis. That means one site can run javascript while another site can't. You'd be VERY surprised at how much tracking usage is leaked out to others once you enable this. Ever heard of google-analytics? Neither have I, until now I don't know about you, but that scares me for some reason. Now go forth good sons, and surf happy, efficiently, and healthily. You still need to stay away from "bad" sites (pr0n being the number 1 no-no), and nothing, but nothing will save you from your own stupidity. But if you practice safe surfing, and use a smidgen of brain, Firefox will have your back. Oh yes, more tips for quicker surfing: - if you wanted www.losir.com, you can type in the address window -> losir then press CTRL+Enter. That will enter the www. and .com for you - Same trick, Shift+Enter for .net; CTRL+Shift+Enter for .org - CTRL+D brings cursor to address bar - CTRL+K brings cursor to Google search bar - The google search bar can access other search engines, including ebay! ....Fun!
This boy's so nice, and my rhymes are sick
You could sell any of my bars, and it'd be gold on a stick I might not be Jin, don't call me no mimic But my flowin' so ill, it'd be carsinogenic I'm not paid to do this, and I'm not a gimick I don't play by the rules, so I'll I can drop a rap, a poem, or a limerick You can fear it I don't do this for dollars, cuz there's no money in it But my mind's still expanding, who knows what's the limit? When I listen to your whack ish, I just skim it Duck, run, hide, 'cuz you scared; timid Your dough is so small, it's like a timbit My money grows on trees, and it's time to trim it You drop like 3rd world B-ballers, take a shot, rim it Your last 16s were nice, psyche, try limp buscuit It sounded so bad, Rippley's believe it or not wanted to come and film it. ....One.

I wasn't going to post a "Happy New Years" message.
I wasn't going to bother to write about how things will be in the coming 2006. I wasn't going to acknowledge that another year has passed, I'm getting older, and life isn't getting better. I wasn't going to admit that 2006 will probably be very scary and boring - it may even be lonely. ....Nope, not going to write about it at all. |
