Nowadays, it is very difficult for a teenager to attain a respectably nice car through the honest and honorable way of working. It is common to see many young teenagers with brand new cars paid for and sponsored by their parents. Teenagers paying for their own ride seems to be very uncommon in the United States today. When parents hand out brand new cars to their spoiled children it seem all too unfair for those who work hard to purchase their own automobile. I find it very disturbing to see hellah nice cars out on the road driven by pampered little *#$%&^ who think they are all that because they have a tight ass ride paid for by their mommies. |

For this reason I am utterly proud to be the owner of this used 1998 Honda Civic EX. I had saved up for a hellah long time until I can afford to put a down payment and finance to purchase my car. The car originally had about 27,000 miles and was purchased at a local dealership. The car came with an automatic transmission which made me strongly regret buying it. I am planning to change all that by making an engine swap towards the end of the summer. I wouldn't have to go through all of this work if I had been patient enough to look for a Civic SI but I was in desperate need of a car to get me around so I decided to buy the best car I can find at the time. Even though I regret purchasing an automatic I am extremely proud of what I have because I can honestly say that this car is paid for by my own blood, sweat, and tears. |

Immediatly after purchasing my rice rocket an Asian Scene banner was custom made by Flamingo Graphics of Fort Walton Beach, FL. After the Florida heat started getting to me I took my ride into a company in a nearby town for tinting. A month later I dumped the factory radio for a Pioneer DEP-P2000 Multi-CD capable face CD player. I added more bass by installing a pair two 10 inch Kenwood KSC-BP210 subwoofers eclosed in a band pass box. A Kenwood KAC-7285 six hundred watt amplifier is mounted to the back seat of the trunk area. The rear deck speakers were replaced with Pioneer speakers as well. With all the sound modifications thus far, the beats sound rather good but there are far more modifications in store for this eye catching ride. |

In the month of December I ordered an Erubini Shogun GTR slim wing for a good 260 dollers. Surprisingly, I received the wing a little under two weeks after the order date, I hadn't expected it to come so soon but thankfully it did. After receiving the large package I immediatly went to a paitn and body shop to do the job. It was a big mistake to choose a privatly owned shop that was offering a cheaper rate than all the others. the whole situation was a big headache from the very begining. The shop was a good 45 minutes away from town and I ended up going there every other day to make sure they were working on it. After several days the wing was finished and I was able to bring the car home to use for work and school. I ended up bringing the wing back to get repainted to fix all the paint drips and rough surfaces. |

I was extremely lucky to find a friend who was selling a set of 17 inch Kosei rims and Scorcher tires for a generous 400 hundred dollars. The rims alone made my car stand out from allot of the cars in the school parking lot. A week after, I had to replace two tires that had worn out and had cracks in the sidewalls. My friend was nice enough to lower the price to an astonishing 300 hundred dollars to compensate for my unexpected expenses. I am very happy to see that I have come along way from not having a car to racing an eye catching import like this one. |
