The Kid 5 came into his first season at Ashley's Palace in 2008 and had some success as he won 3 Nationwide races including the Food City 250. He'd do a really good job in the truck series as he'd win a race at Charlotte on his way to finishing 11th in points. He'd go on to also win 2 East Series races with Nashville & Mansfield and a USAR Northern Series race at Milwaukee. Though he would have lots of success in the USAR Southern Series by winning the most races of anybody with 5; those races were USA International, Georgia, Concord, Milwaukee, and the 4 Brothers 250 on his way to finishing 5th in points.
In the 2008 Chase, The Kid 5 didn�t do that bad as he finished 6th in the Nationwide Chase with 3 wins. Though he improved upon that by finishing 4th in the USAR Champions Chase with a win in the Mark Brooks Memorial Black Tire�s American 200.
