Speedy played his first season at Ashley�s Palace Awards in 2007 and finished 24th overall with one win. Speedy was a proud member of the Gibbs Squad, yet for 2008, he will be part of the second half of the Gibbs Fan Squad
. For the 2008 season, he showed some strength as he won 3 cup races, including the Sharpie 500, the Emerson Radio 250 in the Nationwide Series, and won a race in the newly added West Series at All American Speedway. Though he was his strongest in the Truck Series as he'd win a series high 5 races, including California, on his way to finishing 2nd in points, 6 points behind the leader.
In the 2008 Chase, Speedy turned some heads as he finished 2nd in the Truck Chase, 32 points behind 1st, with a win in the Camping World RV Rental 200.
