Smokey played his first season at Ashley�s Palace in 2007 and ended up 25th overall with a win. Smokey is a proud member of the Gibbs Squad
For 2008, he showed a lot of improvement as he'd win the 2008 Most Improved Player Award. It all started as he'd qualify for the overall chase, by finishing 12th, 17 points over 13th. He did that by winning 4 cup races including the 2nd Gatorade Duel. He'd do his strongest though in the Nationwide Series as he'd win 4 races including a Bristol sweep on his way to finishing 3rd in points. He then go on to win 2 Truck wins, including Kansas, on his way to finishing 11th in points. To close it off, he got a win in the East Series race at Douglas.
In the 2008 Chase, Smokey kept everybody on their tail with surprise as he finished 7th in the Overall Chase, and even surprised everybody more with 3rd place finish in Nationwide, 64 points behind 1st with the Kansas Lottery 300. He then kept his good finishes going as he finished 6th in Truck with a win in the E-Z-Go 300.
Smokey took part in the 2008 Pick Madness and worked with Superman & Ladybug Princess to win the championship, 643 points over 2nd.
