For the 2008 season, Secretary came into it late with it being his first year, just trying to see if it would be fun. In the regular season, he right away showed that he'd be a contender throughout the future as he won 2 Nationwide races including the Federated Auto Parts 300 and a truck race at Milwaukee. Though his strength was the East Series as he'd win a series high 3 races with wins at Walkin's Glen, Nashville, and Mansfield. In the West Series as he won 2 races with those being Infinion and Miller. He also some showed strength in the USAR Nothern Series as he won a race at Jennerstown, and in it's counter part the USAR Southern Series as he won the Greased Lightning 250.
