Schrub debuted at the palace in 2007 as he didn�t fair all that well only finishing 19th with 5 wins. 2 of his wins came in the cup series while the other 3 came in the Busch series. Schrub started out the year as a member of the Hendrick Fan Squad Leaders and gained the most cup races in a row per team record with them. But then partway through the year, Schrub switched teams jumping over to the Dodge Boys.
In 2008, Schrub would be a part of the Gibbs Fan Squad and he'd win 4 cup races, including the Coke Zero 400. Though he wouldn't be as strong in the Nationwide or Truck Series as he'd only win 1 in each with a Nationwide win at Texas and truck win at California. Though he'd do better in the ARCA Series as he'd win 2 races including Daytona. Despite not winning a race in the USAR Nothern Series, he managed to pull off an 11th place points finish, qualifying for the chase in the final race by 10 points.
