The 2008 season was George's first season and he showed some strength at he won 3 Nationwide races including the Food City 250, a truck race at Charlotte, 3 races in the ARCA Series including his first with the Berlin 200, 2 races in the East Series with them being Nashville and Mansfield, and a race in the USAR Nothern Series at Milwaukee. Though he would have lots of success in the USAR Southern Series by winning the most races of anybody with 5 on his way to finishing 5th in points; those races he won were USA International, Georgia, Concord, Milwaukee, and the 4 Brothers 250.
In the 2008 Chase, George turned some heads as he finished 4th in the USAR Champions Chase with a win in the Mark Brooks Memorial Black Tire�s American 200.
