For the 2008 season, Chrissy came into in a rookie and he right away showed he'd be a contender throughout the future as he would finish 6th in superior points and 10th in overall. He won his first cup race at the Coca Cola 600, though failed to make the cup chase by 60 points as he finished 13th. Though he'd go on to win 5 Nationwide races including the Food City 250. He wouldn't have as strong a win count in the truck series as he'd only win 2 races including his first at Atlanta, but he'd find his way to a 3rd place finish. He also went on to win 2 ARCA races including the Rock, 2 west series races with those being Phoenix and Miller, and an east series race at Mansfield. He also showed strength in the USAR Northern Series as he won the Miller Lite 250 on his way to finishing 8th in points. Finally in the USAR Southern Series, he won the 4 Brothers 250 on his way to finishing 12th in points, 20 points ahead of 13th.
In the 2008 Chase, Chrissy kept the talent coming as he once again scored another respectively good finish for a rookie year, 7th in Superior with a win in the Camping World RV 400, 8th in Overall, and 9th in USAR Champions. Though it all fell after that as he finished last in the Truck Chase.
