2-Time Champion - Captain
|
In Captains first season of picking (2006), he didnt prove to the stellar type of person, only getting a 6th place finish. But in 2007, he improved upon that a bit. For starters, he got 5th in overall points and 6 wins. His weakest point came in Cup where he finished 7th with 2 wins, including the Budweiser Shootout. But the next two divisions, he at least scored better then in the previous season. In Busch, he got 5th with 3 wins while in truck he got 5th with 1 win. Captain is a proud member of the Jr Nation Fan Squad and they finished 2nd in team points overall.
For 2008, it'd be a pretty good year as he'd finish 4th in superior and he'd finish eigth in overall. Though it'd be a disappointment in Cup as he'd only win the Chevy Rock n Roll 400 and finish 8th in points, though he'd make up for that in Nationwide as he'd win 6 races, including the Federated Auto Parts 300 & Food City 250. But that Cup disappointment kept up in the Truck Series as he'd only win the Milwaukee race and a 5th points finish. But there was no disappointment with the series to follow as he won 5 ARCA races, including his first with the ARCA 200, on his way to finishing 3rd in points. Though he left his mark in the west series with it's first year as he won 3 races with those being Iowa, Colorado, and Infinion on his way to finishing 5th in points. In it's counter part the East Series, he won a series high 3 races with Iowa, Walkin's Glen, and Nashville on his way to his first ever championship, 75 points ahead of 2nd. Despite not winning a USAR Northern race, he managed to pull off a 5th place finish. Though he showed his winning strength in the USAR Southern Series as he won the Greased Lightning 250.
In the 2008 Chase, Captain showed his talent in picking as we know he has by finishing 4th in the Superior Chase with 5 wins, 5th in the Overall Chase with 1 win, and 6th in the Cup Chase with a win at Martinsville (TUMS QuikPack 500). But then it began to fall as he finished 9th in the Truck Chase. Though he turned it around with a 2nd place finish in ARCA points, 185 points behind 2nd with 1 win (Loud Energy Drink 150). He then backed that up with another 2nd place finish in East, 29 points behind 2nd, with 1 win (Carquest Fall Final). He finally pulled it off in the West Series as he won the championship, 60 points over 2nd with a series-high 2 wins. Last Updated: December 5, 2008 |
