For the 2008 season, it was 48_HMS_24's first year so therefore it equalled some trying fun. In the regular season, he right away showed that he'd be a contender throughout the future as he'd finish 6th in overall points as he'd win 3 cup races including the Dodge Challenger 500 on the way to finishing 6th in cup. He'd also go on to win 6 Nationwide races including the Camping World 300 & Food City 250 on his way to finishing 2nd in points, 106 behind first. He then would go on to win a truck race at Milwaukee, and an ARCA race at Toledo. Though he'd epically show his strength in the West division, as he won 4 races, the most of anybody, with those races being Texas, Iowa, Infineon, and Evergreen on his way to finishing 11th in points. He also left his mark in it's counter part the East Series as he won at Iowa and Nashville.
In the 2008 Chase, 48_HMS_24 didn’t do too badly as he finished 11th in Overall & Nationwide, yet did better in the Cup Chase as he finished 5th with a win in the TUMS QuikPack 500, and really good in the West Series as he finished 2nd, 60 points behind 1st.
