Ashtanga Yoga at the The Flowers of Giverny
Ashlee Goite discovered yoga while attending college in Conway, South Carolina. Numerous pairs of running shoes, miles on the beach, and gym memberships had awakened her interest in developing a spiritual practice in addition to her physical practice. After experimenting with several different yoga classes, she joined a small group of ashtanga practitioners meeting several times per week. The combination of the mental and physical elements of the practice hooked her interest right away.  With time, the ashtanga yoga practice became an important and integral part of Ashlee's life.  Eventually, her love of the practice inspired her to share the experience with others, to help them to experience the wonderful changes both the physical and spiritual practice can bring to one's life.
Ashlee is a Registered Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance, also completing the 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training program with John Merideth at onlYoga.  As a teacher, she encourages her students to be present and aware for every moment and to use that awareness in difficult times, as well as times of calm and contentment.  She also strives to support students in their efforts to bring their practice to the next level.

Ashtanga yoga taught in the tradition of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois is an energetic form of yoga that includes a continuous sequence of postures that are linked to one another through synchronization of the breath called vinyasa.  It is a deep and vigorous practice that realigns the body, steadies the mind, and builds strength and a sense of inner peace. Ashtanga yoga is one of the more physically demanding styles of yoga because of the constant movement from one pose to the next.  But, Ashtanga is much more than just a challenging workout; it develops concentration, reduces stress, and eventually brings a wonderful sense of tranquliity to the mind. However, students progress at their own pace, and all levels are welcome.
Come, come whoever you are.

Wonderer, worshipper, lover of leaving.

It doesn't matter.

Ours is not a caravan of despair.

Come, even if you've broken your vow

a thousand times.

Come, yet again, come, come.
