~*~2008 Summer Awards Pt. 2~*~
Welcome to the 2008 Summer Awards Pt. 2. Originally, this set of awards was planned for the 2008 Fall session, though unexpectedly, it got finished early. Therefore not to delay announcements nor mess up timing, we decided to go ahead and continue with it as we had planned.
Firstly on behalf of the entire Ashley's Palace staff, I would like to thank all of the wonderful people who read the pieces and voted. Without you, none of this would be possible.
Secondly I, personally, would like to thank all the writers who have written these wonderful pieces and posted them for others to read. We appreciate your hard work and dedication towards the site.
Though overall for this session, we saw some wonderful pieces added to the site and saw updates made to exsisting pieces to make them better. In all, there are some new pieces winning awards, while there are some pieces winning awards for the first time. Nethertheless, this promises to be one of the best ever so please do check out every award winner.

Best Story by Ashley: Switchiroo
The voting was close in this category as close between Switchiroo, Your Thank You Present & The Island.

Switchiroo is written in Martin's POV and looks at his opinion on the alternate universe scenario of Dale Jr. going to HMS and Kyle going to DEI for 2008
Best Story for 2008 Summer Pt. 2.....
Runaway by Lil Tigre
This is Lil Tigre's first major award ever.
"Honestly for me, this story was a release. It gave me the ability to release all the emotions that I have held inside for this long. So for me, it probably means more than it'll probably mean to anybody else." - Lil Tigre
Basically this is a story that is written in one man's POV letting out his emotions, with all the emotions being true
Though overall the Story section was one of the best sections as Truex Princess said that they were "all really good in their own respect and it was definately hard to choose between them."
Series Awards
Best Series by Ashley: Ashy & Junebug
The voting was close in this category as Ashy & Junebug won by only 1 vote over Lil Tigre. Also, this is the third time for this series getting this award and it is already a 2-time winner of the overall award
Ashy & Junebug is the fictional love affair between Dale Earnhardt Jr. & Ashley McCubbin. Within their love, they have their trying times with not only themselves, but now their kids and grandchildren
Best Series by Ashley & Kristina: NASCAR Gone Crazy
This is the third time for this series getting this award
"It's definately got a good side of comedy to it that just has you laughing your head off. I mean, the way that it's written it seems so truthful at times that you just laugh because hey, this could be our world. Well done ladies! NASCAR Gone Crazy is basically the world of NASCAR gone crazy in many different ways.
Best Series by Kristina: Beneath the Surface
The voting was close in this category as Beneath the Surface won by only 1 vote over Chocolate Lovers. Also, this is the second time for this series getting this award.
"I have to really say that she surprised me when I heard that she'd be doing it, but ever since that initial surprise, I've been really proud of what she's done. It definitely has my approval as it always takes you �beneath the surface� like it says and I will always rank it at the top of my list. There's definitely no other series that could top this one right now for me. Well done Kristina!" - Captain
Beneath the Surface goes beneath the what everybody knows about Dale Earnhardt Jr. and goes into his true emotions that he keeps out of the spotlight and to himself.
Best Series for 2008 Summer Pt. 2.....
Ashy & Junebug by Ashley
This is Ashley's eighth series award in a row, and the third time she has got it with this series in particular
