Welcome to the 2008 Fall.

Firstly on behalf of the entire Ashley's Palace staff, I would like to thank all of the wonderful people who read the pieces and voted. Without you, none of this would be possible.

Secondly I, personally, would like to thank all the writers who have written these wonderful pieces and posted them for others to read. We appreciate your hard work and dedication towards the site.

Though overall for this session, we saw some wonderful pieces added to the site and saw updates made to exsisting pieces to make them better. In all, there are some new pieces winning awards, while there are some pieces winning awards for the first time. Nethertheless, this promises to be one of the best ever so please do check out every award winner.

Best Story by Ashley: The Island

The Island is a story written about 4 drivers and how they get stuck on an island and how it changes the lives of them and their friends forever.

Best Series by Ashley: Ashy & Junebug
This is the forth time for this series getting this award and it is already a 3-time winner of the overall award
Ashy & Junebug is the fictional love affair between Dale Earnhardt Jr. & Ashley McCubbin. Within their love, they have their trying times with not only themselves, but now their kids and grandchildren

Best Series by Kristina: Beneath the Surface
This is the third time for this series getting this award.
"I have to really say that she surprised me when I heard that she'd be doing it, but ever since that initial surprise, I've been really proud of what she's done. It definitely has my approval as it always takes you "beneath the surface" like it says and I will always rank it at the top of my list. There's definitely no other series that could top this one right now for me. Well done Kristina!" - Captain
Beneath the Surface goes beneath the what everybody knows about Dale Earnhardt Jr. and goes into his true emotions that he keeps out of the spotlight and to himself.

Though overall the Series section was one of the best sections as the voting came down to the wire. Ashy & Junebug originally tied with Magical Season in the series voting, though Ashy & Junebug was given the award due to the tie-breaker set up during the Written Piece Award voting. Also, this closeness also connected with Kristina's Beneath the Surface as those two tied with 1 more vote than her.

Best Poem by Ashley: Angels Are Looking Down Upon Us
Angels Are Looking Down Upon Us is written in the thought that throughout time, those that die will always be looking down upon everyone as angels.

Best Poem by Lil Tigre's Angel: Today.....
For me, I just honestly had a good feeling about this poem well writing it - Lil Tigre's Angel
Today.... is a poem written in her prespective about things and how she sees them right now.

Best Poem by Kaitie: Fear
Fear is a poem that describes the feeling of fear.

Though overall the poetry section was one of the best sections as the voting came down to the wire. Fear only won by 1 vote over both Angels Are Looking Down Upon Us and If That Was Me, I�d Be All Like SWEET.

Best Song by Ashley & Lil Tigre's Angel: It'll Be Okay
The voting was close in this category as It'll Be Okay tied with Your World which left it up to the authors to decide and they chose this song due to it's personal meaning. This song is a 3-time winner of the "Best Song" award.
It'll Be Okay because as stated before, this song definately means a lot to me for it's meaning. I wrote it with a purpose in mind and that purpose is still stuck in my mind. It's definately a piece for that'll stand out always for me and it's definately one of the best most thought out pieces. To those who like it, thank you. - Lil Tigre's Angel
It'll Be Okay is a song that ladies wrote telling everyone that no matter what, things will work out.

Though overall the Song section was one of the best sections as It'll Be Okay tied with He's My Own Little Raskle though Ashley chose this song over the one she wrote by herself due to the meaning behind it.

Best Evil Character by Ashley: Jody Wimmer from Tears & Heartbreak
Tears & Heartbreak is a big huge story that deals with the complicated mess of love all mixed with many issues.

Best Love Connection by Ashley: Ashley Earnhardt & Dale Earnhardt Jr. from Ashy & Junebug
The voting was close in this category as close as Dale & Ashley from Ashy & Junebug tied with Kevin & Delana from Kevsy & D. This is also the second year in a row that this has been Ashley's top combination.
