Strange Foreign Names

Make sure you have read the legal bit on my home page.

saburinasantoiuoshyaberigaimasu. "There is a talkative person called Sabrina."

watashiwaatorantisutoiuookiimachinii, tekimashita. "I went to (and returned from) a large city called Atlantis." ookii is "large", machi is "city".

sashimitoiuoishiitabemonootabemashita. "I ate some tasty food called sashimi."

The noun phrase A toiu B means "a B called A", and is used for unusual or unfamiliar names of people, places and things.

In principle, the A toiu B can also refer to contents of communications, but the resulting construction ends up so convoluted that it's better not to try it.
