The Fifty Worlds: NPCs

Qurmit the Frog

Qurmit the Frog used to be a frog. He is now a human. No, it wasn't one of those weird princesses who are forever kissing frogs who did it. It was another of Selmarina Zencina's wild surges at Xenby.

Qurmit is quite open about the fact that he used to be a frog. It is not something that he is ashamed of. If anyone asks, he will tell them.

Qurmit does not understand what it means to be a human. He does not understand human society, and his adventuring professions (druid and thief) are the two which do not require him to.

In particular, Qurmit does not understand human mating rituals. He thinks that if he sits by a pond and calls, human females should come to him to mate. He especially does not understand the concept of penetrative sex (frogs fertilise externally).

Nevertheless, Qurmit likes being a human. He does not want to go back to being a frog. He hopes that one day he will meet one of those weird princesses.

[AD&D-Specific:] Qurmit the Frog, human male, Str 15 Dex 17 Con 17 Int 15 Wis 15 Cha 15 Align N Hp 77. Druid, level 11; Thief, level 13.

Traits: Climate Sense, Lucky.

Qurmit can jump, as the first-level spell, at will.

Note for DMs:

Qurmit the Frog is included for light relief.

Remember, though, that although Qurmit is incompetent as a human, he is entirely competent as an adventurer. He can do all the things druids and thieves do, just as well as any other druid or thief.

Obviously, he can be used for emergency rescues if the player characters get themselves in serious trouble.

He is likely to become a recurring NPC if the player characters get involved (on any side) in the disputes in Bresshire.
