The Marid

There is only one marid in this campaign setting. He is the DM's personal representative, and can do anything he chooses.

[AD&D-Specific:] The Marid. Align CN. Hp 104.

The Marid's special abilities specifically include, but are not limited to:

  • negate any wishes granted by efreet.
  • regenerate 100 hp per round.
  • reincarnate any being who drowned at sea.

    The Marid is not omniscient. However, his information sources are excellent, so if he needs to know something, he can almost always find it out.

    The Marid likes:

  • anything to do with water
  • blue and green
  • chaos
  • flattery
  • most nereids
  • most sirines
  • oceans
  • paradoxes
  • pirates
  • practical jokes
  • some demons
  • some humans
  • stories
  • tidal waves (the bigger, the better)

    The Marid dislikes:

  • all efreet
  • anything to do with fire
  • anything to do with iron or steel
  • boredom
  • deserts
  • law
  • most devils
  • red and yellow
  • sycophancy
  • wishes (those who ask for them, and those who grant them)

    The Marid has no interest in:

  • anything to do with air
  • anything to do with earth
  • black, white and shades of grey
  • dishonesty
  • good
  • evil
  • honesty
