
Biography
John Lennon was born on October 9th 1940 in Liverpool, England, and was given the middle name Winston after Prime Minister, Winston Churchill.
John`s father, Alfred, was a sailor and was not there for the birth. He didn`t see John grow up. Before the eight of five, his mother, Julia,
gave up John for adoption to her sister, Mimi Smith, who would play an important role in John`s life. She was lovingly called Aunt Mimi.
Despite living apart, John regularly visited her mother, who taught him how to play the banjo. Unfortunately, on July the 15th 1958, she was killed after being struck by a car driven by an off-duty police officer.
Four years later, John would marry his first wife, Cynthia Powell, on the 23th of August 1962. They had only one child together, Julian.They divorced in 1969, the same year he married Yoko Ono, a Japanese artist.
They had one son together, Sean, who was born on October the 9th, 1975, the day of John`s 35th birthday. That year Lennon decided to quit from the music business to raise his son. 
He came back in 1980 with a new album. Unfortunately, on the night of December the 8th of that year Lennon was shot dead in front of his apartment, the Dakota, in New York City.
