Submit

Sub – submarine operates ‘below’ the water. Sub par in golf indicates ‘below’ par.

“Humble yourselves therefore ‘under’ the mighty hand of God that He may exalt you in due time”. 1 Peter 5:6

Mitt – like a glove. When ball goes ‘in’ the mitt, the mitt has to be ‘closed’, ‘squeezed’.

We must operate ‘behind the scenes’. Below, under.

“Submit yourselves therefore to God, resist the devil and he will flee from you”. James 4:7

The ball is ‘enclosed’ in the mitt. The ball is ‘covered’ in the mitt.

Submit ‘yourselves’. Not bits and pieces but ‘yourselves’.

We are able to ‘resist’ the devil only because we have submitted ourselves to God. Resist temptation, resist attacks, resist the lies and deceptions.

The devil will ‘flee’ from you having submitted yourself to God, being covered by Him, under His command.
