The University of the Philippines-Baguio Biodiversity Advocacy and Capability Building Group through its Payments for Environmental Services Task Group is committed to contribute to the literature on payments for environmental services. Here are some of the preliminary works on payments for community environmental services from the UP Baguio:

Designing Market-Based Rewards for Community Environmental Services for Power Companies 14 July 2005 Edited 15 September 2005 (an important complement to this work is a forthcoming article that I am writing on the limitations of market-based approaches to payments for environmental services that will appear December 2006)

Towards A Framework for Valuation of Environmental Resources: Monetization and Intangibles (January 2006)

An Assessment of ENRAP's Approach to Valuation of the Forest (7 February 2006)

Rent Approaches in Valuation of Environmental Resources (7 February 2005)

My next writing initiative which I intend to be out by December 2006 is on the limitation of market-based approach to payments for environmental services. Although market-based approaches are important, they are not the only thing in payments for environmental services to communities.
