Jorge Castro Flórez, was born of Asturian parents in Barcelona, in 1938. His long peregrination from his native Spain through France, Shouth and North America, has influenced his artworks. Artistically, he has gone through several phases and experimented with different materials in specialized workshops. He has developed direct working techniques on metals, contributing with various innovations which are displayed in many of his works.

     When the mural technique does not allow him to express the intensity of the feelings he wants to convey, Jorge decides to devote himself entirely to sculpture. He finds in the warmth of bronze the perfect medium to transmit to the spectator the dimension of the world that surrounds him. His works contain the broad spectrum of human emotions.

       Along the years, his artworks heve been shown in several countries through numerous solo and group exhibitions. He has received several awards and many of his bronze sculptures are part of important institutional and private art collections in Spain, France, Monaco, Austria, Germany, Belgium, Holland, Great Britain, Canada, USA, Mexico, Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina and Chili.
